Tools for Survival, Care, and Resistance by Queer Zimbabweans, for Queer Zimbabweans
By Feminist Voices Zimbabwe

At Feminist Voices Zimbabwe, we are proud to launch the full collection of the SAFE Project Resources — a body of work built by queer Zimbabweans, for queer Zimbabweans. These resources offer safety, affirmation, and support to navigate a world that too often denies us all three.

The SAFE Project — which stands for Safety, Access, Freedom, and Empowerment — was created through story circles, community research, and the deep listening of queer voices across Zimbabwe. It began with one key question: What does safety really mean for us?

The answers were layered:
Danger in public space.
Silence in families.
Violence in relationships.
Fear of being outed.
Lack of legal protection.
Mental health strain.
But also:
Community.
Joy.
Resistance.
Love.

The Meditation Series

Because safety is not only physical — it’s emotional, mental, and spiritual.
We created a series of soothing, affirming guided meditations, each one paired with a journal prompt and a guide topic to support your healing journey.

The meditations are facilitated by Nkazi Khumalo — a non-binary healing practitioner, intuitive coach, and space-holder committed to the emotional, spiritual, and embodied freedom of queer people.

Why This Matters

In a country where queerness is criminalized, safety is often self-made. These tools are our resistance and our care. They are protest documents. Love letters. Lifelines.
